ABOUT

Welcome to my practice! Please take a moment to read a little bit more about me!

I work with my clients to be who they truly are inside and out. I help individuals,

couples, and families see their divine potential and achieve their goals.

I truly love being a teacher, therapist/social worker, and supervisor.

I received my PhD in Counseling Education & Supervision, and am a licensed clinical

social worker (LCSW) and trained sex therapist. I maintain a private practice with a focus on mental

& sexual health, and overall wellness in Penfield, New York. I have been a therapist for over 18 years.

In addition to being a therapist, I am an Associate Professor, Program Director of the MSW Program, and Co-Chair of the Social Work Department at the College of Brockport, and was previously an Associate Professor of Social Work at Nazareth College. I teach master level social work practice courses including practice, research, evidence-based modalities, groups, and research. I have created several electives in the areas of sexual health, addiction, creativity, and social work interventions. I am the author of the book, Exploring Sexual Health in Clinical Practice: Practitioners’ Attitudes, Knowledge, and Training, two current continuing education courses in sexual health and sexually transmissible infections through Western Schools, and several other academic journals, book chapters, and reviews in academic related sources.

I work with individual clients and couples to increase their self-awareness, self-compassion, health, wellness, and overall joy in their lives! I believe in each person's inherent goodness, right to individuality, and uniqueness. Each of us the keeper of our own life and only we know what is truly best for ourselves. And, we have the power to choose what is best! In the moments of indecision, when we apply love and self-compassion, we have all we need to make a decision. And sometimes, when everything falls apart, that is when perfection can set in.

I work with clients with a variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, sexual health concerns, relationship difficulties, parenting, infertility, postpartum, communication difficulties, low energy, among others.

Therapy is a place to feel safe, be who we are with no excuses needed. Creativity, laughter, sharing, and building relationships are what life is about. I use a variety of modalities and techniques that are personalized for each client, along with evidence based practices when appropriate. Life can be difficult, we don't have to go through it alone.

Why Therapy?

People go to therapy for many reasons. Therapy is a safe place to talk about what is concerning you. We all go through difficult times and need support. Research indicates the individuals who receive therapy experience a better quality of life and have fewer negative emotional symptoms. Everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to!
