Episode 27: Unleashing the Power of Choices: Breaking Free from Feeling Stuck

Have you ever felt stuck? Like there’s no options, no choice, and you have no ability to change directions? In this episode, I share my experiences in feeling this way, and what I do when I recognize it.
When we feel stuck, it can feel like a weight of bricks holding us down or that we’re stuck spinning our wheels unsure how to get out of the rut. There are so many reasons we feel stuck, but I think the most helpful place to start is recognizing that we have choices. We may not like the options, but we do have them, and that is the key to getting unstuck and truly living an authentic and brave life!

Key Quotes:
“Being stuck happens for a lot of reasons. For me, being stuck has absolutely been tied to my need for attachment to others over my own authentic self.” [3:01]
“Maybe you’ve stayed too long in the job because you’re afraid of change or risk. Sometimes we get really comfortable in that routine even though we don’t really like it. We know what it is, it’s the devil we know versus the devil we don’t know.” [5:30]
“I was too afraid to allow what was going on to be true, and then deal with it. Being stuck can feel like quicksand the more you try to get out the more it washes over you and the deeper you sink.” [11:20]
“Each day I have to remind myself I have choices. They may all be really bad choices, and ones I don’t want, but I have them. I can stay in the job or I can go. I can express how I’m feeling to someone that hurt me, or I cannot, and recognizing this can make a difference in feeling stuck.” [16:49]
